I always love Thankful Thursdays because I have SO MUCH to be thankful for. Since it IS Valentine's Day, I'll start out by saying how THANKFUL I am to have a loving husband. GOD has done A MAJOR "makeover" in our marriage, and I couldn't be more blessed. I love him more today than the day we married. (I guess it's SUPPOSED to be that way huh?)
I'm thankful for all my friends, my family and all the LORD has given me. Of course I'm MOST THANKFUL for JESUS, and the fact that HE LOVED me enough to die for me - KNOWING that I would continue to sin. I'm thankful that HE loves me (and you, and everyone else) enough to discipline me/us when I/we sin. More than that, I'm thankful that HE forgives us when we confess those sins!
What does God tell us about love? God tells us in HIS WORD that we are to love one another..... That of course is a an AGAPE love - loving each other when we may not be lovable.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
HE also assures us that NOTHING can separate us from that love....
Romans 8:37-39 (New Living Translation)
37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY, my friends
