Guess what WE did yesterday!?

Our boys had a sleepover on Friday night.. with a couple of boys their ages. Well, their "roughhousing" got a little too rough. Zach was running through the house and hit his hand on a wooden piece of the couch. By Saturday morning (the next day) his hand was REALLY SWOLLEN. (I thought - HOPED it was bruising) AFRAID NOT!

We took him to see a bone doc yesterday and found that a bone in his hand was broken. (It was the quickest we could get in without going to the ER)

The bone that had a break in it is the one that follows your middle finger back towards your wrist. (It's about halfway between the knuckle and wrist)

Now, don't be worrying about Zach, he thinks it's COOL! (If you could believe that?) HA! I guess I said it right the other day when I titled one of my most recent posts, "Boys WILL be boys." =-)

Here's a couple of pictures of him "finishing off" the mac-n-cheese (Oh, and giving me the "thumbs up")...

Oh, and if you're wondering.. YES, he caught a LOT of heat from EVERYONE about running in the house. (Yes, I got a kick out of that) It seemed that every medical person he saw yesterday - INCLUDING his doctor - "ragged him about it." (They were like, "Didn't your Mom ever tell you NOT to run in the house?") Hehehe.. it's NICE to have SOMEONE else nag I mean, tell him for a change. O:-)

Okay, I'm gonna run. I've gotta get these boys fed and school started. You guys have a GREAT DAY!

Love,
Tonya

Oh, Tonya.. after I read the last comment you left for me I just had to come right over and see what Zach had gotten himself into with that broken hand! :) Yes... boys will be boys. My son is 7 and, while he's always shown those "boyish tendencies", it seems that now that he is in school and getting older they are just coming out all over the place! Oh, what a learning experience this is for a Mom that grew up in a house full of girls... the only man in sight was my Dad! :)

Hope you all have a great day!

I was the youngest of three boys and I also raised two boys, no girls.

I can certainly relate to Zach being proud of that cast. He's all boy!

Is this what I am in for with my little guy? Oh boy.
When I was in the ER with Ian's split lip there was a young guy in there with a broken hand because he punched a chair. I know that they think after they act but wow.
Hope his hand heals and that he doesn't think it's too cool that he repeats it. Tee hee. :)

I'm dying to know, is he right handed or left handed?

Oh my what an adventure. I hope it heals quickly! The good news is that it isn't summer when all of the swimming stuff is going on. :)

Oh my, my! These boys! haha I'm so sorry to hear about Zach's hand. Is the right-handed?

This story reminds me of my boys when they were younger. We certainly had our share of trips to the ER and doctors' offices. Unfortunately, it continues throughout their teen years! It's that daredevil streak they have in them. It's funny how every injury they get they seem to revel in it, wearing the bumps, bruises, cuts, casts, etc. as a badge of honor! Must be a guy thing! haha

It's funny how boys are. This is now a "badge" of manhood! :)

My boys take pride in every scrape and bruise.

Tonya! You are one brave chick for taking care of your boys. I loved this story...reminds me of my hubby and his brother (who I think has broken every bone in his body)!
Hope he's feeling okay!

How is Zach doing today?

He's only had his cast a few days and it's already beginning to stink?! hahaha! That is just too funny. Gonna be interesting to see what it smells like after several weeks. Little boys...gotta love 'em!

Oh, Tonya, I am so sorry that Zach broke his hand. I hope is heals quickly. Devin broke his arm when he was 3 and had a cast - the worst part was not being able to wash it - EWWW! :)

I loved the pictures of Brent in the post below. Gosh, he is so precious. Somedays it is hard to wait for Heaven!

I finally have the boxes for Allie taped up and addressed. All I have to do is make it to the post office. :) I will let you know when I mail them.

Have a great week!

Oh, Tonya I feel terrible about this.

Yes, I know "boys will be boys", but geez, I know this must of hurt.
(maybe YOU more!!)

Anyhow, looks like he's got the hang of it already. These little guys, they are something huh?

We sure had our share of the ER with our boys. And they HATED it everytime.

Just like "haircuts", and baths too!

Oh well!!

It won't be long until they are getting all dolled up for their girlfriends, OK, I won't go there, just YET!!!

Love you~
