A.A.A.D.D.

Hello, Friends...

I got this in an email and thought I'd share it. This is SO ME! Yikes! Oh, and if you're interested in my bloggy giveaway, be sure and leave a comment on the post just below this one. Okay, back to the email.. this is TOO FUNNY!

A.A.A.D.D.

KNOW THE SYMPTOMS.....PLEASE READ!

Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.
Somehow I feel better even though I have it!!

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. -
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turn on the hose in the driveway,
I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.

As I start toward the garage,
I notice mail on the porch table that
I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table,
put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table,
and notice that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back
on the table and take out the garbage first.

But then I think,
since I'm going to be near the mailbox
when I take out the garbage anyway,
I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table,
and see that there is only one check left.
My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
so I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks,
but first I need to push the Pepsi aside
so that I don't accidentally knock it over.

The Pepsi is getting warm,
and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi,
a vase of flowers on the counter
catches my eye--they need water.

I put the Pepsi on the counter and
discover my reading glasses that
I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk,
but first I'm going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter,
fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote,
but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table,
so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs,
but first I'll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers,
but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table,
get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to
remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:
the car isn't washed
the bills aren't paid
there is a warm can of Pepsi sitting on the counter
the flowers don't have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day,
and I'm really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,
and I'll try to get some help for it,
but first I'll check my e-mail.....

Do me a favor.
Forward this message to everyone you know,
because I don't remember who I've sent it to.

I'm NOT laughing... I'm just nodding my head. Because that, my friend, perfectly describes pretty much every day at my house. No lie. *sigh* I wish there was a way to transfuse just a little bit of my boy's energy into me! :<)
Happy weekend... hugs...

I can so relate to that email! Age...I see so many changes as the yrs. go by and I am not sure I am ready for them. I read the profile about you and your family. I have a nephew also in heaven from the same thing your son went with. Sean was 4 when it was found and stayed with us for another 4 yrs. That was 16 yrs. ago. He operates the rain button for God in heaven (that was his wish before he left us).

Oh my, this is so me. I have started writing things on my hand to remember because my hand is always with me. I am constantly walking into a room then wondering why on earth I am in there. It doesn't matter though because I will get distracted by something else... Sigh. :)

Man, can I relate! I was going in the kitchen and saw my car keys on the desk. I thought I better put them on the table and I picked them up only to see dirty clothes on the floor. I picked them up, walked to the laundry room, but, got side tracked by the TV. Turned it on to watch the NFL Draft. As I was about to sit down, I spotted the computer and thought I better check my email. My eye caught the internet news headlines first and I never made it to email. I thought I'd post on my blog and your blog name caught my eye......... and here I am. (pant) Is there a cure????

Hey Sweet Tonya,
Now I know why I have lost my keys three out of the last four weeks. Seriously, I was missing them for DAYS, but I always managed to keep up with my spare key! Haha!

This also happened to a neighbor of mine last week while his wife was away on a trip. He has this thing about the laundry soap cap being clean, so he placed it under running water in the utility sink. Well, he must have forgotten one thing after another because he arrived home FIVE hours later to find that the sink was still running, the cap had flipped into the drain(blocking it) and his entire downstairs was flooded. I kinda didn't feel so bad about my frequent loss of keys after that, but I hated it for him!!
I miss blogging with you, Friend! Maybe I will jump back in one of these days...oh wait, I guess I just wrote a post on your comment board! Haha!
Hugs!
Stephanie

That is too funny. I think, not sure, I read something similar to this on a social network I am a member of. Still it's been a bit since I've read it.....still very funny.

I am a first visitor to your blog and I am so terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your son; there's no way I can imagine this hardache. I can't relate from a mother's perspective but I can relate to losing a brother; he was my older brother and was ellotrucuted by a power city line and killed instantly; suddenly w/o any chance to even say our 'good byes', but I know he is with Jesus and for that I am at peace. Same with your little one; you will see him again one day and I can't imagine how immersed in happiness your son is today. But again, I am so terribly sorry!

Now back to a lighter note because I'm sure you didn't want to be reminded of this grief; your "A.A.A.D.D." post is too cute; love it. Actually I was recently diagnosed with adult 'ADD' (not to be confused with 'ADHD'). Who would have known? But after taking a few simple and minor meds, my mind was clearer and it all made sense suddenly. However, I am not one for mind altering pills so I am praying that God; Jesus is the cure, not the medication.

Loved visiting your blog,

In Him,

~Sarah Cecilia
