As many of you know.. my sister-in-law (Elizabeth) and her hubby Jason have been in the process of adopting their first baby. After many months of "maybes" there has been an AMAZING thing happen. Someone near by found them and the rest as they say, is history. We've been waiting on the birth of baby girl Jenkins. Well, YESTERDAY - EASTER SUNDAY she arrived!
Her name is Allie Grace Jenkins. Allie is named after Elizabeth's Great Aunt (Their Grand-Daddy's sister) Grace was chosen because she's the result of GOD'S GRACE & PROVISION for this sweet couple.
She weighed 6 pounds and 8 ounces. She's 21 inches long and I hear she has a head FULL of hair! Oh, I can't WAIT to meet her!
There is a 72 hour waiting period in the state of Mississippi - after that it's all legal. (We're almost 13 hours into it now) Please pray with us for a smooth transition and many years to come with this beautiful HEALTHY baby girl.
I'll post pictures as soon as I can. I hope to get to go to the hospital today. I'm SO EXCITED to meet this sweet baby girl! Wait, I said that already... LOL! I can't help it... I'm EXCITED!!

Congratulations Tonya,
What a wonderful Easter gift for your entire family! I love the name they chose, very feminine and pretty. I look forward to seeing pictures of her, we haven't had a baby in our family since Quin was born 5 1/2 years ago. He is still my baby but he is getting awfully big!
Take care and have a great Monday!

I came across your blog from another one I was reading a couple of weeks ago. You mentioned Mississippi in your most recent post. Are you from Mississippi? I am originally, but now live with my husband and kids in Cape Coral, Florida. Would love to meet another "Mississippi" girl. Email me sometime.

Wow. This is a wonderful miracle - and on Easter, too. I love hearing about parents who adopt. There are many cousins in my family that have been adopted. Adoption has been on my mind for the past 15 years. It just doesn't go away. We'll see what happens.
Congratulations, Tonya! I will be praying for the time period to end uneventfully. I hope that you got to hold that baby a lot today!
Love you!

I LOVE adoption!! Such a witness to the love of God!
God bless this sweet baby, her loving birth mom, and her excited new parents!!
"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves."
Eph 1:4-6
Praise God! Wonderful story...

Will be praying! (On all counts) Of course, adoption is near and dear to my heart, so as you can imagine, my heart jumped when I saw that word. :)
