In EvEeRyThInG give THANKS... "WFW"

For more posts on this "WFW" check out The 160 Acre Woods

Now.. for some of what we've been up to here...

What's all of that you ask?? Well, it's our line of defense against some of the most DREADFUL creatures you'll ever find! (I'm slightly stretching it... hehe) I think the birds are called "barn swifts." They build MUD nests just under the edges of our porch and raise their babies there. You think that's sweet? I used to... until I saw the ENORMOUS mess they make when those "babies" hatch and start growing.. ICK!) Did I mention how GROSS that is???

Anyway... the boys and I had a fantastic idea. (Or so we thought) The thought was if we put something really SCARY up there.. the birds would go away and build somewhere else, right?? WRONG! They seemed a bit confused at first... flying up, seeing the little monsters, kicking it into reverse, then back again.

Then... it happened... they overthrew godzilla! (As you can see, he wasn't very happy about it either... HA!!!)

What'd we do??? WE put godzilla back in his spot along with a rubber snake in behind him. We thought he needed someone (or something) to "have his back." What did the birds do??? They've started putting mud on both the snake AND godzilla!

What to do?? What to DO???? Any suggestions??? LOL!! (As you probably all know already, if you click on the pictures it will enlarge them.. check out the really dark picture.. YES, that's the birds standing on the toys... LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY at us! Well, probably not, but it sure feels like it)

Hey! The protection men thats awesome haha! my parents had problems with birds pooping and attatcking their cars, so they put a mirror in the tree close to the cars. It was really funny the bird would attack and fight the mirror and wouldn't attack the cars. i don't know if that will help with your birds. Have a good day

Tonya you don't have to apologize at all. You didn't hurt my feelings in the least! I think it's a wonderful tradition! :)
I am praying that my next delivery will be easier. I'd love to be able to get up and walk around without feeling like my v-word was going to fall on the ground. Ugh!
Those pictures are hilarious. Your boys are so creative and funny! :D

WOW...that's something else! Last year we had a robin who built a nest in our garage on top of the garage door opener light. That was a royal pain....my husband dismantled the nest before eggs were laid and we had to make sure we kept the garage door closed at all times...it seemed to work....this year they are building in our cherry tree!

Hello, my friend, Tonya! I was so thrilled to see from the comments you left on my blog that you were feeling better and out of your "slump". Praise the Lord!

I LOVE these pictures of all the ways you tried to keep those birds away. Man.. nothing seems to scare them, huh? I wish I had some good ideas to throw your way, but I'm a city girl through and through. I don't know a thing about keeping away birds! HA! However, I will wish you luck and hope you find something 'cause I know I sure wouldn't want their messes on my porch! :)

I pray you have a wonderful remainder of the week. I'll be back soon to visit. LOVE YOU!

Wow, I love the picture of the birds and the verse. The birds are so cute and such a visual aid for the verse! Thanks for sharing. Blessed WFW!

Okay...Did you Photoshop this picture somehow to make their mouths all open at the same time? That's amazing! They're like a little bird choir. It's awesome! Too bad your monsters didn't work! I don't have any better ideas--maybe get a few cats?

This is hysterical! I was truly laughing out loud. What a creative way to combat those little pests.
My parent's always had some type of varmint around wreaking havoc when I was growing up. We had 5 skunks under our house right before I got married. I was so grateful I didn't have my wedding dress yet.
Thanks so much for the book..I'm loving it so far! I really needed it and I can already tell it's going to be life changing!
You are so very precious!
Love ya!

I had to laugh when I saw these pictures. Good thing the boys are protecting you from these creatures! How cute. It looks like you have a front porch-how wonderful. I just read your other post from this week also and I love that picture of the boys. They look so sweet laughing and swinging. I am so glad you are feeling a little better. I can only imagine the emotions some days for you. I try to put myself in your shoes and I don't think I or anyone can. You were Brett's mama and although we have such blessed assurance where he is it is still difficult to not think about how you miss his arms around you. I hope and pray you feel Jesus wrap his arms around you today and feel encouraged with every waking day. Blessings friend.

This is just too funny. I've never seen anything quite like it! Well, maybe you should just let the birds get on with it... Oh, I don't know. I'm stumped!!!

Oh, Tonya! Your WFW picture is just precious!

And the rest of your post is hilarious! Looks like you all had fun trying to keep those birds away. My guys would love to come and hang out at your house! :)

I don't know what you should do about the birds . . . they are pretty persistent!

I loved the picture in the post below this one. PURE SWEETNESS!! And Allie Grace is so beautiful. She has the prettiest eyes. What a blessing she is and I am just so thankful she has you all as her forever family!

Have a great week!

I love it! We have a nest also and love the little ones but if we had a lot of them, I'd be doing the same thing!
Be blessed!

King Kong maybe????

That is just too funny. Thank you for the great laugh! And to add to that....this was in my devotions for today:

Don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:31

I know you know the scripture is true, but I am trying not to laugh (hope you get my sense of humor :-O

Have a great evening!

So I tried to post a comment yesterday and I have been having a time with Blogger this week, so I just gave up. I love the WFW picture that is so precious. About you birdie problem well I don't have any suggestions for you but you are way more creative than me I probably would have gotten so irritated and it might have ended up with me and a bb gun..... Good luck getting rid of the them!
