Friendship Awards

I'd like to start out by saying, "THANKS," to my friend Cheryl for the, "A Perfect Blend of Friendship Award".

I know of at least twice that I've been honored by "blogging awards" and I truly didn't know what to do with them. If you are one of the precious ladies that "left one" for me and I didn't acknowledge it correctly, I apologize! I am truly one of the "slowest" people you will likely ever meet. O:-)

Now, I'm supposed to answer a few questions when accepting this award.. so here goes......

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? No, I don't. I can't think of even one person from high school that I "hang out" with. MOST of my friends are those that I've met online. There are MANY ladies that are DEAR to me, but I'm assuming when asked about my "friends" that it means those that I actually spend time with or keep in contact with.

2. What do you value most about your friends? Honesty. I value having ladies in my life that will "call me out" when they see me making a mistake. I want to do what GOD expects from me and I LOVE to have friends that will tell me what GOD'S WORD has to say about whatever issue I'm facing.

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? Yes, I like to talk with my closest friends but ultimately, I weigh what they tell me against what I KNOW to be right in God's eyes. Now, don't let me fool you... I MOST CERTAINLY make MANY mistakes. I've got SOOOOOO MUCH to learn. I'm just telling you where my heart is.

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? ANYTHING. It's a blessing just to know that someone cares. So, it doesn't matter what we're doing.. as long we're getting to spend time together!

Now, I'm SUPPOSED to pass this along to 5 friends, but I'm always just MORTIFIED that I'll leave someone out. SOOOOO.. as always, I'll cheat and just pass this along to ALL OF YOU!

O=-)

Also, my friend, Jennifer at, "My Life With Four Kids" gave me one.

Thank You, Jennifer, and again to Cheryl! That was SO SWEET of you guys to think of me!

WHOOPS! Before I go, I want to remind you that we're down to TWO days until the big giveaway!

Congrats on the awards! YEAY!! Thank you for the WONDERFUL post you left for me. I was so excited while reading it and even called my Thing 1 over to read with me, since you said they look alike. I've told him about your boys, actually, I've told all my kids about your boys. You're an amazing woman and a beautiful family. Ang

Tonya,
I love this:
"It's a blessing just to know that someone cares."

That's my heart also...just to be invited or to be wanted around.

I love that verbage of the second award: "I big red puffy heart your blog."

I heart you.
Paula

I had what ended up being one very large ovarian cyst. I am doing well now - going home tomorrow. I posted about it a couple times (mixed in with other posts).

Congratulations! I agree with the others...you definitely deserve the awards! :o) I feel the same way you do about my friends. It's sorta funny, but most of my friends are women who are quite a bit older than I. They are part of my church family, and I know they will tell it like it is and lovingly set me straight if I do or say anything that goes against the Word!

I appreciate so much my friends who are up front with me, have no hidden agendas or ulterior motives, and don't talk about me behind my back. Friends who walk in love and kindness (and can have loads of fun, sharing lots of laughs) are the best!

It's a shame we don't live close to each other...we'd get in trouble together, for sure! lol ;o)

We are blessed to have a church family who lovingly provides food, friendship, and prayers when someone goes through an illness or death in the family. But, like you said, everyone eventually returns to their own lives. I try very hard to remember those in our church who have lost loved ones, and do my best to encourage them in different ways. But, I have also been guilty allowing "life as usual" to get in the way, with time getting by me before I realize I haven't been in touch with them the way I should.

ANYTIME you want to talk, let me know. I can email my phone number to you...or vice versa. And, I'm really praying for that opportunity for us to get together. Watch out, world!!! :o)

Love you, Girlfriend! :o)

Well, it's sure no surprise to see THOSE awards on your mantle! If there are blogger awards out there for "Biggest Heart" and "Sweetest Spirit", you'll have those soon, too! Tonya, I came across this scripture and it brought you to mind, because so many of us have been praying for your family and for Brent for a long time.

Colossians 1:9--"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding."

We HAVE not stopped praying for you.. and we WILL not stop praying for you. And yet, even as we come here to bring YOU strength, we leave with so much more than we bring.. and THAT'S why you are honored here on Earth. I can only imagine what your Heavenly crown is going to look like! I feel sure I'll recognize you.....
Hugs, prayers, and blessings...

You deserve all the great awards that may ever come your way. The best thing about you is that you share all your values with your children and everyone around you. You and Link are raising wonderful boys who show their loving spirit. Brent was who he was because of the guidance given by his parents towards the Lord, that was your gift to him, he just shared that gift and his heart with others. Sounds like such an easy thing to do.... so why doesn't everyone?! I think the RAK is a great idea and knowing we will be doing it in Brent's honor makes it all the more special. How amazing that doing that will allow your sweet boy to continue touching others who may have never had the pleasure and honor of knowing him or maybe even knowing of him. May God bless your heart today.
